Colombia restricts U.S. beef imports
USMEF says ban in response to HPAI outbreak in dairy herd has no scientific basis.

Colombia issued new restrictions on U.S. beef last week in response to the ongoing avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak in dairy cattle.

The ban applies to fresh or frozen beef and beef products derived from cattle slaughtered in Texas, Kansas, Idaho, Michigan, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio and South Dakota on or after April 15.
