Mahaska County wins right to exit airport authority
After a decade of trying to follow the will of the voters, the Mahaska County Board of Supervisors won the right to vote on whether to withdraw from the 28E agreement that formed the South Central Regional Airport Authority (SCRAA). On June 24, 2022, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled the 28E agreement unconstitutionally restricted Mahaska County from unilaterally withdrawing from the airport authority and unconstitutionally delegated its government functions to the SCRAA board.
