Informational meetings held to seek out potential partners across Nebraska and western Iowa.
Western Iowa farmers are exploring new opportunities to raise chickens for Lincoln Premium Poultry (LPP), Costco’s dedicated poultry organization.
LPP, based in Fremont, Nebraska, is considering a major expansion in response to growing demand. On June 16, the company hosted an informational meeting in Logan in Harrison County to gauge farmer interest in becoming contract growers. A second meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Onawa Community Center in Onawa.
About 30 farmers attended the Logan meeting to learn more about the company, its proforma financials, poultry-growing requirements and contractual expectations.
