Iowa crop production costs up

The rising price of fertilizer and other inputs is driving corn and soybeans costs sharply higher, according to a new Iowa State University Extension report.
The cost of growing corn following soybeans was pegged at $3.96 per bushel for 2022 at an average yield of 198 bushels per acre. That was up nearly 20% from $3.31 in 2021.
