The U.S. and Chinese trade agreement, expected to be signed by leaders of the two countries in the next few weeks, offers significant potential for increased exports of soybeans and pork, market analysts said last week.

Soybean sales, which have been hit hard by the U.S.-China tariff battle, have a chance to rebound to near levels seen before trade tensions began escalating in 2018, according to Todd Hubbs, an ag economist at the University of Illinois. “Expanded soybean exports under the proposed agreement look probable,” he wrote last week a report about the potential U.S.-China trade agreement.
