County-level involvement is the backbone of Farm Bureau’s success, American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall emphasized in a speech Aug. 28 to the Iowa Farm Bureau 2021 County Presidents’ Conference.

“The grassroots is where the strength of our organization is,” said Duvall, a Georgia poultry and cattle farmer. “With your help, we can accomplish anything.”

The AFBF president noted that his own Farm Bureau leadership started at the county level, when his dad told him he needed “to get outside of your fencerow” to make a difference on issues affecting his farm.
