As financial pressures in Iowa agriculture continue to mount, it’s critical that farmers who rent land and their landlords maintain good communications. Efforts this summer can benefit both parties, an Iowa State University (ISU) farm management specialist said last week.

“I think most landlords are aware of the financial uncertainty that many farmers are facing,” Steve Johnson, ISU Extension farm management specialist, said last week at a farmland leasing meeting in Altoona. It was one of 70 sessions being conducted by ISU  Extension and Outreach statewide this summer.
