Dwindling stocks for export, limited arable land in the U.S. and globally for expansion, and even Mother Nature’s unpredictability are challenges facing the international agricultural community as it looks to guarantee future world food security.
“A lot of discussion needs to happen between all of us about where we go from here,” said Stephen Nicholson, Rabobank global strategist for grains and oilseeds. “I’ve never been in a time in my career, other than maybe the farm crisis (of the) 1980s, where there have been so many moving parts in agriculture.”
