Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East aren't new, as the region has seen ongoing proxy wars in some form or fashion for years. The reasons vary, including a plethora of religious factions present in the area, as well as hostilities between groups that stem from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Today, though, a new conflict has arisen, as Israel, which is generally supported by the western world with deep ties to both the United States and Europe, started a bombing campaign against regional rival Iran.
