With the election season winding down and Congress nearing the post-election "lame duck" session, it’s critical that Farm Bureau members and others in agriculture push hard to secure passage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, the American Farm Bureau Federation’s (AFBF) trade lobbyist said last week.

"We are definitely in the crunch time on this issue right now," said David Salmonsen, AFBF’s senior director of congressional relations. "We’ve got to push hard now to make sure that the TPP is on the agenda in the lame duck session. If we can get it on the agenda, then I think the TPP would have a good chance on the floor."
