Reynolds signs bills to aid young farmers

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds last week traveled to Holub Land Farm in Tama County, met with Cordt Holub and several area young farmers, and signed two Farm Bureau-supported bills de­­signed to create more opportunities for young farmers to gain a foothold in agriculture.

Reynolds signed House File 768, which updates and improves the state’s Beginning Farmer Tax Credit program. She also signed House File 778, which is designed to protect and enhance capital gains deductions on the sale of farmland in the state to keep...
