U.S. meat exporters are looking for ways to hold on to key markets as tariffs against U.S. products enter their fifth month, leaders of the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) said last week in a conference call ahead of the group’s Strategic Planning Conference.

The USMEF is stepping up promotional efforts in Mexico, where tariffs on U.S. pork applied in July have cut into market share, said Oscar Ferrara, USMEF regional director for Mexico, Central America and the Dominican Republic.
