More than 60% of Iowa is now experiencing some level of drought, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor published Aug. 4.

About 60% of the state is categorized as being abnormally dry or in moderate drought (D0-D1), the monitor reported, including nearly every county south of Interstate 80.
