The following statement may be attributed to Iowa Farm Bureau Federation President Craig Hill:

“Iowa farmers have long pushed for more free and open markets, and we are pleased with the progress towards that goal through the phase one China trade deal.  Free and fair trade with China represents countless opportunities for Iowa agriculture in a growing market with a demand for U.S. ag products.

We are hopeful this agreement is an impactful first step toward growing the trade relationship with China, historically the top export market for U.S. agricultural products.  China is a valued trading partner and we look forward to growing the relationship.”
