Most of Argentina’s agricultural region was hit by a heat wave accompanied by little or no rainfall last week and early this week, adding pressure to adverse conditions that its corn and soybean crops have suffered through for weeks, Reuters reported.

A wide area with maximum temperatures close to 104 degrees (F) was expected to cover the agricultural heart of the country, added the report.
