With farm profitability sinking and agriculture facing a record trade deficit, now is the time to enhance the farm safety net and open new markets for U.S. farmers, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) President Brent Johnson said in his annual address to voting delegates last week at the IFBF Summer Policy Conference in West Des Moines.
Farm Bureau will be at the forefront of these efforts in the coming months, the Calhoun County farmer emphasized.
