Participants on Iowa Farm Bureau's recent Market Study Tour of Belgium and the Netherlands learn how European regulations may impact exports.
The European Union (EU) is one of the richest consumer markets in the world, with the Netherlands serving as the main port of entry for goods destined for the continent.
This made the Netherlands the perfect place for county Farm Bureau members from Iowa to learn more about the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and its impacts on farmers and exporters around the globe during the 2025 Iowa Farm Bureau Market Study Tour of Belgium and the Netherlands in June.
Adopted in May 2023, the EUDR aims to reduce the EU's impact on global forest loss, which it says is a major driver of climate change and biodiversity decline.
