Acres Of Opportunity Conference

Per CDC guidelines recommending the cancellation of gatherings of more than 50 individuals for at least eight weeks, the Acres of Opportunity Conference has been cancelled. Thank you for your understanding and we will notify registered individuals should this event be rescheduled at a later date.

March 28, 2020 - The Hotel at Kirkwood - Cedar Rapids, IA

Acres of Opportunity is an Iowa Farm Bureau-inspired conference focusing on crop and livestock opportunities for new and small farmers and those interested in diversification.

During this one-day conference, farmers will have the opportunity to attend over a dozen breakout sessions to gather information, resources and tools that can help them explore potential new revenue streams for their farms in niche areas such as vegetable production, hops, grass-fed beef, meat goats, bees, strawberries, mushrooms, pumpkins and more.

Attendees can connect with industry experts, including farmers who have successfully implemented alternative enterprises, and learn first-hand about new business models and revenue streams. There will also be business breakout sessions focused on building a business plan, risk management, and loan programs to help new farmers get started.
