Winter conditions expected to hang on in March

The shift from an above-normal temperature trend in Iowa during December and early January to a colder pattern later in January produced some of the coldest days of the winter late in the month.
The shift to colder than normal weather continuing into February was expected; however, February total precipitation and snowfall have been considerably greater than I was expecting back in January.
