Vilsack outlines plans to jump-start U.S.-made fertilizer

New grants were announced last week to fund small fertilizer producers in the U.S., in hopes of expanding supplies of fertilizer products that have seen sky-high prices in recent months.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced the $250 million in grants at the 2022 Commodity Classic last week in New Orleans.
“We’re announcing this effort to jump-start independent production of fertilizer, to aid sustainable agriculture practices,” Vilsack said.
