The Farm Futures 2020 planting intentions survey, released last week at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, indicates farmers hope to plant 94.1 million acres of corn next year, up 4.5% from the U.S. Department of Ag­­riculture’s estimate of 90 million acres of corn this season.

Soy plantings could rebound to 83.6 million acres next season, based on the survey results, although that still represents a 5.6 million acre decline from initial 2018 soybean planting intentions, which were 89.2 million acres.
