While Iowa’s regulatory landscape has remained stable for several years, there are concerns, particularly for livestock producers, heading into 2024 and beyond, as outlined by a panel of legal experts last week at the Farming for the Future conference organized by the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers.

“On the state level, I think we’re in a stable rules environment right now with the Legislature, which is good for the industry,” noted Eldon McAfee, an attorney at Brick Gentry in Des Moines specializing in animal agriculture issues.
