Rail industry aims to mitigate delays
Union Pacific and BNSF Railway, two of the largest Class 1 rail services in the United States, said they are working diligently to relieve rail congestion and mitigate delays that have been brought on by extreme weather conditions, global supply chain disruptions and worker shortages.
Industry officials testified before the federal Surface Transportation Board (STB) in April and said they are taking the necessary steps to meet STB’s new reporting requirements to address service issues.
