Iowa State University (ISU) student Maia Jaycox, 19, has been abuzz with excitement at being named the 2017 American Honey Queen.

The Webster City native was chosen as the new queen at the North American Beekeeping Conference in Texas in January. In 2016, Jaycox was honored to be named Iowa Honey Queen.
