Lucas Co. art contest celebrates importance of hay

It’s important to tell the story of the value of hay, pastures and grassland to the cattle industry and the Iowa landscape. The Lucas County hay art contest, now in its fifth year, aims to do just that.
The contest began as a way to draw attention to hay and pasture and its uses in the southern Iowa landscape, said Lyle Asell, the contest’s director.
