September weather allowed harvest of corn and soybeans in Iowa to progress a little ahead of the five-year average pace.
After a summer when statewide temperatures averaged nearly 2 degrees above normal, the overall trend for above normal temperatures continued in September with average temperatures late in the month ranging from 2 to 4 degrees above normal. Some high temperatures around 90 degrees occurred into late September.
