“Crops are starting to green up. Even the wet areas are getting greener,” Vander Velde said July 27. Soybeans are starting to close the row, and aphids have been reported in the area. Fungicides have been applied on corn and are starting on soybeans, he said. Some farmers used Y-drops to apply additional nitrogen on corn. The weather has been dry the past two weeks.
