“Everything’s been going smooth,” Boettcher said May 19. “I’d say conditions are just about ideal right now.” Corn planting is nearly complete, and she estimates at least 50% of the beans are planted. Her area received 1.3 inches of rain in less than one-half hour recently, which caused some washouts. “Our cereal rye cover crop fields seemed to absorb that rain a little better,” she said.
