“By the end of the week, most beans will be out,” Hoffman said Oct. 7. “Yields have been better than anticipated. There’s some that have just been OK, and some have been record-setting.” Progress was slowed by 3 to 6 inches of rain the previous week, he said. Farmers are just getting a good start on corn, and yields so far have been variable, Hoffman said.
