Iowa Farm Bureau Statement on Executive Order Implementing Defense Production Act 

The following statement may be attributed to Iowa Farm Bureau Federation President Craig Hill:

"Iowa’s livestock farmers are deeply hurting and facing the most heart-wrenching decisions because of the disruptions in the food system caused by plant closures. While it remains to be seen how the Executive Order will be implemented, we are pleased President Trump recognizes our emergency, and hope that it assures the safety and well-being of workers while also giving farmers a much needed life line so the food system can function for all Americans."
