IFBF: EPA’S atrazine proposal is not backed by science

A proposal by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to severely limit use of the herbicide atrazine is not backed by science, would harm farmers’ efforts to improve water quality and reduce soil loss, and would sharply raise production costs at a time of low commodity prices, the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) said last week.
