Hay has become a hot commodity in Iowa, and producers have been scoring big prices for any hay they have available to sell. In the meantime, buyers have flocked to hay auctions hoping to fetch some hay to feed their livestock.

At the Dyersville hay auction, hay demand is simply larger than the supplies available.

Dale Leslein, manager at the Dyersville Sales Company, said attendance and sales have picked up at the weekly hay auction, held on Wednesdays.
