CEO says market uncertainty makes it more important than ever to diversify trading partners. 

Diversifying markets and expanding relationships with current trading partners are key to continued success as the United States works to grow its global beef, pork and lamb exports.

Dan Halstrom, president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), shared the organization’s vision and export forecast with attendees at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines earlier this month. USMEF’s goal is to advance export opportunities for the nation’s meat products by building relationships, marketing, promotion and education worldwide.

USMEF has staff across 20 re­gions globally working to expand markets and grow exports with trading partners, Halstrom said.
