Iowa Farm Bureau members emphasized the importance of the pending trade deal with Canada and Mexico, boosting rural broadband, reducing unnecessary regulations and providing support for livestock production during meetings with the state’s newest U.S. House members during the August congressional recess.

The on-farm meetings in northeast Iowa with Rep. Abby Finkenauer and with Rep. Cindy Axne in southwest Iowa also helped the freshman congresswomen get a first-hand look at production agriculture and appreciate issues that farmers are facing, the Farm Bureau members said.
