A pattern of variable rainfall continued from June into July in much of Iowa and the Midwest.

June ranked as the 22nd wettest in the past 143 years in Iowa, with statewide average rainfall nearly 1.5 inch above normal. Average rainfall for all crop districts of Iowa was above normal except the northwestern district, where the average amount was around an inch below normal.
