A packer walks into a meeting of cattlemen — it sounds like the start of a bad joke. 

But last week Cameron Bruett, head of corporate affairs at JBS, one of the largest meat processors in the world, gave the keynote address at the annual Iowa Cattlemen’s Association Leadership Summit in Altoona, focusing on shared values between industry and producers.

“Too often, the packer and producer relationship is only what happens at the plant,” Bruett said Dec. 14. “We have a lot more we agree on than disagree on.”
