Current breakeven and fed cattle price projections suggest that the long period of red ink stretching back to early 2018 is coming to an end, according to a market analysis by Michael Langemeier at Purdue University.

Breakeven prices in the first six months of 2020 are expected to range from $119 to $122 per hundred weight, with the highest breakeven prices expected to occur in March and April.
