Iowa cattle farmers have voted to reinstate the state’s 50-cent-per-head beef checkoff, according to preliminary results of the checkoff referendum held on Nov. 30.

The Iowa Department of Agri­culture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) announced last week that 56 percent of those voting supported the checkoff. A simple majority was needed for passage.
