Soybean trade booming with many countries

The status of an announced trade agreement between the U.S. and China has been debated for several days now among traders and investors, but what can't be debated is the effect the lack of Chinese soybean purchases from the U.S. has had on nontraditional export business through the first half of 2025.

While China has avoided U.S. soybeans, thereby driving down the price, this lower price has been of benefit to the rest of the world, which has taken advantage.

As a whole, data shows U.S. soybean exports to all destinations except China through the first 10 weeks of the 2025-26 marketing year are up 42% compared to the same period last year. At the top of this...
