Iowa lawmakers and renewable fuels leaders had mixed reactions last week after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the biofuel volume obligations for 2018.

They were pleased that the agency kept the requirements for conventional ethanol volumes similar to the preliminary levels announced last summer and resisted oil industry efforts to lower them. But Iowans were disappointed that the EPA didn’t raise the volume requirements for biodiesel and cellulosic ethanol.
