A difficult time for market outlooks

A unique set of circumstances has made production of the monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report more difficult than usual, according to current and former U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials.
“Making the report has been a challenge this year,” said Mark Jekanowski, chair of the USDA’s World Agricultural Outlook Board, which produces the WASDE report. “Gathering data from Ukraine, clearly, has been unusually complicated this year.”
