USDA expands cattle reporting

Two new reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) on cattle prices aim to address concerns from many producers about price transparency in the cattle market.
The National Daily Direct Formula Base Cattle report began publishing Aug. 9. Officials said it provides “greater information into the foundational prices used in cattle market formulas, grids and contracts.”
