President Donald Trump last week ordered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to begin the process of allowing year-round sales of E15, a move that was cheered by ag leaders and Iowa lawmakers who have worked hard to lift the summertime restrictions on sales of the fuel blend.

Year-round E15 sales, they said, will be good for consumers, will help the environment and is a big win for Iowa farmers, who currently sell about one-third of their corn crop for renewable fuel production.

Trump’s action, is a “no-cost, win-win for both farmers and consumers,” said Craig Hill, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation president.
