The uncertainty surrounding agricultural trade, coupled with low crop prices, contributed to a 1 percent drop in Iowa farmland prices over the past six months and a 2.7 percent decline compared to a year ago, according to the March 2019 survey by the Iowa Realtors Land Institute (RLI).

“Any time you have uncertainty, it affects people’s decisions,” said Kyle Hansen, chairman of the RLI land trends survey. “The uncertainty (regarding trade) af­fects land values. The sooner we can end it, the sooner people can react to it.”
