With crop prices sharply lower and margins disappearing, Iowa farmers need to concentrate on marketing and management in the coming years, Iowa State University economists said last week.

Corn and soybean farmers in Iowa and the United States did harvest record crops this year, which is positive. However, global demand isn’t strong enough to handle the glut of crops on the market, said Chad Hart, grain marketing specialist for Iowa State University (ISU) Extension.
