Syngenta settles farmer lawsuits over corn traits

Syngenta last week said it has reached a pending settlement with plantiffs to resolve litigation concerning the sale of its Agrisure Viptera and Agrisure Duracade corn traits.
The settlement, which is subject to court approval, would establish a settlement fund for the submission of claims by eligible claimants who contracted to price corn or corn by-products after Sept. 15, 2013. Terms of the agreement weren’t officially disclosed, although Bloomberg reported the amount to be more than $1.4 billion.
