Summer theater troupe brings taste of Broadway to northern Iowa

Mitchell County Farm Bureau members got a rare treat last week at their annual county meeting and family picnic.
Members of the first-ever Cedar Summerstock Theater entertained guests and even provided the youngest Farm Bureau members in attendance tickets to their show.
The troupe is made up of 10 university theater performance majors at colleges throughout the nation. About 50 college students sent in audition tapes to be a part of the summer group, and 10 were selected. Professional staff from various theater companies and backgrounds assist with costumes, choreography and lighting.
