With the cover crop planting season just starting, Iowa seed dealers say they have good supplies of seed for farmers this fall.

"We have ordered in a large supply of cover crop seed in preparation for cover crop use," said Dennis McCall, agronomist and national sales manager at Naylor Seed Co. in Scotch Grove.

Clarke McGrath, on-farm research and extension coordinator, and agronomist at Iowa State University’s Iowa Soybean Research Center in Harlan, said he’s also heard that Iowa seed dealers expect cover crop seeds to be in good supply this summer and fall.
