The passage of Proposition 12 ("Prop 12") in California, which places restrictions on the sale of pork within the state, has been and continues to be disruptive for the pork industry across the country. While the law has generated much discussion concerning its impacts on the domestic sale of pork, the direct impacts for pork exports trans-shipped through California seem to be limited.
