Online service helps farmers rent idle equipment

With harvest just around the corner, Joel Lange of Jefferson isn’t preparing his equipment for harvest. In fact, his combine isn’t even on his own farm. That’s because Lange has rented his combine to farmers in Kansas and Montana for use during their harvest.

Lange posted his combine, bean head and corn head up for rental through MachineryLink, a web-based company that matches farmers who have equipment available for rent, like Lange, and those looking for equipment to rent.
